Hi, my name is Ana and I am the founder of Pell d’Arbre – a “made in Valencia” accessories brand. I am also the person who designs, produces, photographs, promotes, provides customer service and takes care of all the details so that you can receive the best serivce and products.

I am Portuguese, born and raised in Alentejo, a region of Portugal very abundant in cork oak trees. Cork is a material that I am very passionate about because it is part of my heritage. Before creating my brand I worked as a freelance designer for other cork accessories’ brands but I was missing the possibility to shape the products with my own hands.

I have been living in Valencia since 2015 and I absolutely love this city. I have been living in Valencia since 2015 and I absolutely love this city. I came to take a Master’s degree in Sustainable Fashion at the local school of art and design and I stayed because I could no longer imagine myself living anywhere else.

Pell d’Arbre was born here, from a need for personal creative expression and the desire to work with cork in an more efficient and sustainable way.

The first products were created in November 2017 and presented at a special Christmas edition of the Valencia Vegan Festival. The first products were created in November 2017 and presented at a special Christmas edition of the Valencia Vegan Festival. The acceptance was very good which allowed Pell d’Arbre to continue to grow, although always very slowly because everything is done by a single person.

It is with great pride that I label all Pell d’Arbre’s bags with the words “made in Valencia”.

Apart from Pell d’Arbre, I always working on other projects. At the moment I am part of an inclusive and sustainable fashion lab called MeuTeu Co-design Lab. And I am collaborating with a group of cork artisans, together with the Suber Lab project, aiming to raise awareness of this wonderful raw material and its artistic and functional potential.

I love walking, being outdoors and plant-based cuisine.
